Campus Village Water Softener & Pipe Replacement Project Phase 1&2

San Jose, California

This design/bid/build project involved the replacement of over 6,000 LF of copper pipe and related components of the domestic hot water return system in a residential housing complex composed of five (5) buildings ranging from 7 to 14 stories. Campus Village is home to more than 2,200 residents (student and staff) during the school year and has year round residents in several of the buildings. To minimize the impact to the residents, Lyles Mechanical Co. started and finished the project in only 58 working days and was successful in keeping the buildings fully occupied throughout the project duration. Extensive preplanning and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders including: University Housing, Facilities Development & Operations as well as Building Maintenance was integral in the success of the project. In addition to self-performing all of the plumbing and mechanical work, Lyles Mechanical Co. also served as the general contractor and managed multiple trade contractors to complete the job on time and under budget.
